Our House was built in 1921. In the following years, communities throughout Wisconsin and neighboring states responded to pleas for funds to renovate existing homes suitable for Ronald McDonald Houses.
Marshfield converted this home into a Ronald McDonald House in 1983, less than 10 months after our Board’s first meeting.
Every family’s journey is different, but no family should have to face it alone.
When a child is ill or injured, families don’t just visit, they stay. Thanks to donors, they stay together, supported and close to the care they need.
Whether a family stays with us for a few nights or several months, Ronald McDonald House of North Central Wisconsin provides the comforts of home and a community of care.

What a Blessing the House Was!
In 1997, when she was just 9 months old, Emma was diagnosed with Autoimmune Neutropenia, a condition that left her unable to produce enough white blood cells to fight infection. Her illness meant repeated stays at what is now Marshfield Children’s Hospital, where she received IV antibiotics in isolation while her mom stayed by her side and her dad and grandma found a home across the street at Ronald McDonald House. Thankfully, Emma eventually grew out of the condition and today, Emma is a healthy 20-year-old college student, and her family remains deeply grateful for the comfort and support Ronald McDonald House provided.
